The Feet Never Lie...

The feet are the window to the body. They tell us so much about what is going on in the body, and they can even sometimes tell us things about our bodies that we didn’t know. As Eunice Ingham, founder of modern reflexology said “ If you’re feeling out of kilter, don’t know why or what about, let your feet reveal the answer, find the sore spot, work it out.”

Reflexology is the practice of stimulating the organs and systems of the body by working reflex points on the feet. Skeptical? I’ll agree, it does sound bizarre to say that we can tell what is going on in the whole body through the soles of the feet. I’ve seen the roll of the eyes, the raise of the eyebrows, and the subtle smirks. As a reflexologist, though, I know that once you have had your first reflexology experience, this doubt will fade away and will be replaced by your “light bulb moment”.

The light bulb moment is when you think to yourself, “Wow! How did Stacey know I’ve been having sinus headaches?” or “Can she really tell that my right shoulder has been sore?” , and for a second you think that maybe there is some validity to what I’ve been rattling on and on about since you sat down in my chair. I know how it goes and I understand the uncertainty, because I have been there before myself. Often times, not all the words in the world can replace what an experience will reveal to you, and I believe reflexology is this way.

When a friend offered to do my feet to help out with some health issues I had been having, I thought, “Why not?” I was filled to the brim with doubt, but unwilling to pass up on the chance for some relaxation. My light bulb moment was two-fold. Not only could my reflexologist tell a tremendous amount about me, just by working my feet, but within a week, my body started responding to the reflexology and I felt a noticeable difference. I had less anxiety, I was more relaxed, my back and neck pain lessened, I slept better and that was just the beginning. That is the moment I thought, “What if there is some truth to this?”

The light bulb moment is when I go from having a skeptical client just looking for a good foot rub, to having a believer looking for balance, relaxation and restoration. I love when someone says, “How did you know my ear has been killing me?” because I get to say, “The Feet Never Lie”.

And it is true. The feet really never lie. We are brutal and torturous to our poor feet, squishing them into pointy toe heels, and overworking them long after they’ve started screaming for mercy. But no matter how much we use and abuse our feet, they still tell us so much about our health and wellbeing, and they still provide a means for not only balancing, relaxing and restoring, but also for detoxing and cleansing.

So, put your doubt on the back burner and make space for your light bulb moment. Open your mind to healing and wellness and see what your feet will reveal to you.

To get a start on your reflexology journey, here’s a quick way to relax yourself. Press your thumb in the center of your foot, just under the ball of the foot, and take 3 deep, cleansing breaths. This will help to not only relax you, but will allow you to take deeper breaths to get rid of some of the toxins in your body. Try doing this whenever you feel stressed or anxious, or as just part of a bedtime routine to help you unwind for a good night’s sleep.

Keep an eye out for my next blog, where I will be discussing how reflexology can help boost your immune system to get you through cold and flu season.

Be well and live well,
Stacey

Truly, One Toe at a Time

As a part of Howard County's Stress Busters program, I've had the pleasure, over the last week, of meeting some really wonderful people.  A few of them had had some experience with reflexology before, but the vast majority of the employees I met took their shoes and socks off and laid back in my chair only because someone told them, "...it feels really good", or "...you have to try to the foot thing".  I'm okay with being the girl who is doing the "foot thing" and I'm glad that people are coming to see me because they heard good things from other employees, who sat in my chair 15 minutes prior.

My hope is that I have shared the benefits and the relaxation of reflexology, as it was first shared with me many years ago.  Had someone not given "a very skeptical me" my very first reflexology session, I would not be here now and I would have not gone on the incredible journey that I have been on while learning and sharing reflexology.

My hope is that everytime I work on someone's feet, even if it is for the first time, that I am sharing, spreading and encouraging wellness, whole health, and the importance of balancing, relaxing and restoring...one toe at a time.

Be well.

Thank You, Thank You!!

Much thanks to the employees of the Howard County Rec and Parks Headquarters for welcoming me today with such warmth and positive energy!  I really love sharing reflexology with people, whether it's their very first session or their 101st session.

It is always exciting to see a shift towards Whole Health and Prevention and towards "Alternative" health, which will hopefully one day soon stop being alternative and instead just be an intergral part of "Good Health"!

I value each and every one of my clients and I appreciate your continued business and support.  I look forward to seeing each of you soon!  Please see below for my October availability.

Be well...and live well!

What's Left....and October!

Hello!  Hello!  It's that time of year when you can almost smell fall on your doorstep.  Kids are back to school, all things pumpkin are out and about, fall festivals are beginning, and if you take a glance out your back door, you just may be able to see a hint of red or orange around the edges of the leaves.  The humid tropical weather doesn't fit in so much with the fall picture we are all trying to paint, but no worries....cooler fall temps are suppose to arrive soon!

For all the reasons we love fall, there are a few things that come along for the ride that don't quite enhance our fall fun.  Inevitably, cooler weather brings the dreaded allergy season into full effect.  And tagging along right behind allergies are all the cold germs that kids are carting home from school.

Reflexology is incredibly effective for reducing the symptoms of allergies and the cold/flu.  Sit back, put your feet up, wrap a warm aromatherapy neck wrap around your neck, and have your sniffles and stuffiness "reflexed" right out of your head!  Not only will reflexology help leaps and bounds with your stuffy head and watery eyes, it can also help to boost your immunity and allows your body to get back on track and return to a healthy state....which is what it really wants to do, and what you really need it to do, so that you can get back to your pumpkin spice lattes and apple picking!

Below, is my availability for September and October.  Please email me at OneToeAtATime@gmail.com to book your appointments!!

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Be well,
Stacey

What's Left In July...

Happy July to you (my favorite month of the year)!!!  Hope the summer is treating you well so far!

Prayers for those who are still without power....I hope that it is restored sooner than later.  Thankfully, we only lost power for about a day and a half....so we were very lucky.  We are all alive and well, and who can ask for anything more really?

Summer seems to be flying by already.....didn't it just start?

I have two appointments left in July and some in August.  Please check my availability below and let me know which sessions you'd like to book by emailing staceyLV@comcast.net or calling 443.417.5913.

If you'd like to book a session, but the availability that I have listed below does not work well for you, please let me know.  I do have some flexibility and I am more happy to try and find something that will work well for both of us!

Thank you so much for your continued business and support!
Enjoy your summer and stay cool!

Peace and Blessings,
Stacey
